As you read this, I'll likely be giving a talk on ideas. 20 of them, to be exact. I love ideas. And I really love good ones.
If you're reading this, chances are that you aren't in Boston for NAFCU's annual conference. So you're missing my talk. Well, in case you want the slide deck and "companion piece," here they are...
- Here's the presentation in .pdf format.
- Here's an overview document, which walks you through the presentation.
Of course, you won't get to hear my corny jokes. Or about Kate and Briggs. Maybe next year?

One of the best parts of going to a conference is to get to see credit union leaders from around the country. You'll get to meet CEOs and Chairs from every state. From big credit unions and small ones.
What amazes me is this: you won't find any two that share the same leadership traits. You might find some that are similar, but never two that are the same.
Some are quiet. Some are funny. Some are analytical. Some pat you on the back. Some ask the tough questions. Most blend more than one trait. But each has found a way to be his or her own type of leader.
And that, my friends, is a good thing.
Have a good week, guys. Wish you were here in Boston.
I was interested in watching the John Spence video you reference in Slide One but You Tube has informed me the video is not available. Any ideas . . .??

Sorry DJ: Here's a link that should work. Looks like John migrated his videos over to his website at some point:

This is some really great stuff. I feel like I need to read it, digest a bit, re-read it...rinse and repeat :) Anyway I especially liked SALLY and the John Wooden Pyramid. Thanks so much for sharing this. What a great collection...and call to action!
